HERE'S WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT HST CAMPS & CLINICS...
"Rob: I just wanted to drop you a quick note to personally thank you for all of your hard work this summer. As I told you early on, I was very impressed with your camps and the quality of training you provide, so many of these camps are nothing more than daycare with ice time. We have traveled as far as Lake Placid in search of hockey camps, and quite frankly I feel duped, because I believe we have uncovered some of the finest technical training in our own backyard (HST). Most parents just want to send their kids away for a week or two and expect them to come back NHL prospects, however I would venture to guess that a small minority of those children have ever been exposed to true technical skating instruction and understanding WHY certain things are done certain ways."
Thanks again for providing a positive camp experience for my son and us."

"Thank you for a great camp. My son's only complaint was that they were on the ice a lot. Personally, I don't think this is a bad thing, and I reminded him that he was there to improve his ICE hockey skills. I love the individual attention that he received. He could tell me everything that he was taught and he has been practicing his new and improved stick handling techniques. I also really liked the written progress report. He will use that to improve his skills, also. I'm sure we'll be attending your camps in the future."

"[Our son] is so excited to be learning and improving and appreciates everything you are teaching him! He comes home enthusiastic, energized and tired too! I've been meaning to mention that your report card was awesome. It's great to have such individual feedback and attention to detail. It really gives [our son] something very concrete to guide him and measure his growth as a hockey player/skater!
I have known for some time that our son (and do so many other players) lack technical skills and am so pleased we found your training! You can be sure that I have been spreading the word about your skills training! Thank you!"

"Hands-down, HST's Drop-In Clinics are the best value out there for players of all ages and skill levels. Where else can my son go to get 75 minutes of hands-on instruction in a small group setting, by some of our area’s best trainers? It's great to see these kids being challenged every week to and having fun doing things outside their comfort zones and the ability to just "drop-in" on Sundays works with our family’s hectic schedule."

"I talked with my son this morning and asked him his thoughts about your camp so that I could provide you with some good feedback. He loved your camp. He talked about how much fun he had and how he enjoyed making so many new friends. He mentioned how much he loves being on the ice and playing hockey. He thinks his balance improved. I asked him what things in particular helped improve his balance and he mentioned the hopping drills you had them doing every day. He appreciated the fact that the counselors worked with him. He said he couldn't really think of anything that he would suggest you do differently. He did mention one day last week how he felt embarrassed during the video sessions when someone would point out what he was doing wrong in front of the whole group. I think this might me more of a maturity issue since he has never previously been exposed to that kind of environment. In my mind this was good for him.
I had the chance to observe parts of the camp. I have to say I was really impressed with the way you handled the kids. Everything was very structured and well-organized. I also liked the fact that there is discipline and that you hold kids accountable for their behavior. I think this teaches important life lessons for them. [my son] became much more self-sufficient and responsible as the week progressed.
I could tell a big difference when you stopped to work with [my son]. In addition to talking with him you also demonstrated for him the difference between the correct and incorrect approach. At times I sensed that the counselors were more passive in their teaching approach and not always as quick as you to roll up their sleeves and actually demonstrate what they were looking for - which I think is important especially with the younger kids.
I can definitely see a difference in his skating since he finished your camp. In the Friday afternoon scrimmage he looked stronger on his skates. I also noticed him make a few sharp/tight turns on his edges that I've never seen him make before. He looks like a different kid. He had an open skate on Sunday and he just looked so much more confident out there. I know this can be attributed to attending your camp last week. I thought the camp was worth every penny and I've already given my recommendation to others who are considering your camps for later this year and next.
I welcome any/all feedback you have and would also appreciate any advice you can offer in terms of the kinds of things we can have him doing over the next couple of months so that he can build on what he learned with you. Thanks again Rob.
